access session object from PHP with mod harbour

Dear Antonio,
Is it possible to access session objects created in PHP with a mod harblur file?
I tried:
in PHP
$_SESSION["username"] = "admin";


in prg file
var loggedin = sessionStorage.getItem("username" );
alert(loggedin);

but do not get the value.
