Dear Mr.Antonio,
I would like to know whether FWPPC can be used to develop an application for a Motorola MC1000 Handheld Mobile Computer cum Barcode scanner.
Device Details : http://www.motorola.com/business/v/inde ... 06b00aRCRD
The web site gives the following info about the device
Operating system (OS) : Microsoft Windows CE 5.0 Core Version
Processor (CPU) : Intel XScale 312 MHz processor
Memory : 32MB RAM; 64MB ROM
Further investigating about the Intel XScale Processor, I understand that the XScale architecture is based on the ARMv5TE ISA without the floating point instructions.
As I am very much new to this, I do not know from where to start.
I understand that, I require an emulator for Windows CE 5.0. I also understand that along with the FWPPC, Microsoft Device Emulator Version 1.0 Community Preview is also distributed. Is this the right one to be used to have preview of the application on PC for these kind of devices ?
Above all, I would like to get a confirmation regarding whether it is possible to use FWPPC to develop an application for this device.
The application requirement is very simple.
1) The device has an inbuilt Bar code scanner.
2) The user scans certain data using the inbuilt BarCode scanner from the sticker pasted on carton boxes.
3) All the scanned data should be appended to a text file inside the device.
4) Later on this Text file should be transferred to a PC and erased from the device.
I hope that all the required classes are available to manipulate the text file
Thanks & Regards
Anser

Hi anserkk,
We recently purchased the exact same scanner (MC1000). Were you able to get an emulator working on your PC? Also, we are thinking of unzipping files on the scanner, are you using any sort of zip/unzip functions on your scanner? If so, any helpful advice? Thanks for any information.
