Hoping for a PASSWORD option for a GET or a suggested altern

Now that my first real FiveLinux application is getting close to being ready for implementation I should put a password protected login. In FiveWin the GET has a PASSWORD option. Is it possible to provide one in FiveLinux or does anyone know of a suitable work around? It doesn't make that much sense having password protection if anyone can look over the operator's shoulder and see the password come up on the screen.

Not essential but fairly desirable.
