Graphs

Post by Colin Wisbey »

I'm converting my apps from FW to FWH and all has gone well except graphs.

I need to replace the 16bit Graphics Server stuff I've used under 16bit.

1. I was keen to use TGraph and started converting to it but reached a dead end because I can't see a way to display bars on a bar chart as patterns instead of solid colors. (I need this to distinguish the bars when printing to a black and white printer). Is there any way to do this with TGraph?

2. Alternatively, I was also happy to convert from Bits Per Second's product, Graphics Server 16bit, to their 32bit version but I can't work out how to link their 32bit version in. Anyone had success and, if so, what do I need to do?

I need help very urgently. Hope someone can help me.

Thanks

If your previous product has a OCX version for 32 bits, you can use it with FW from version 2.7 which supports ActiveX/Ocx technology

Colin,

you may also look at RmChart from Rainer Morgen. It´s an excellent chart-tool and it´s free.

Thanks for your replies.

Does anyone have wrappers for either 32bit Graphics Server (version 5x) or RMChart? I'm not experienced enough with C stuff to confidently do it myself.

(Shame TGraph doesn't allow for printing to a B&W printer. eg various hatch patterns for bars in a barchart, or different point symbols on a line graph. That's a show-stopper for me - otherwise I am impressed with what I have seen of TGraph.)

TIA

Colin,

Would it be possible for you to just use different shades of gray?

James, shades of grey are not sufficiently distinguishable, unfortunately

your mailserver blocked this attachment, so I sent it to hyperupload, where you and others can download it:

When I try to download the wrappers I get a zero byte file. I tried three times and I have never had a problem downloading from Hyperupload before. Anyone else having this problem?
