Printing from Handhelds

All,

I haven't found many posts here related to printing from handhelds and would like to clarify what options are available. Is printing only available through bluetooth or can you use IRDA? How do you print to the device, by writing to a COM port? Any way to control font/pitch size?

I have a lot of customers using Citizens CMP-10 portable printers, some with IR and others with Bluetooth. Some users are using HP's and other portable printers. I need something generic that will work with any ir or bluetooth enabled portable printer.

Has anyone considered implementing something that would work with a 3rd party printer SDK like what's available at?:

www.fieldsoftware.com

Thanks,
Randal Ferguson

With Oneil printers you can upload bitmaps into the printer memory(using the configuration software from desktop computer, you can upload fonts and bitmaps) and invoke the bitmap using ESC commands.

Biel,

Thanks for the information. Our customers use a wide variety of printers, we need something that will work with any mobile printer.
