We are proud to announce that thanks to Patrick Fan cooperation, we have been able to adapt FWH 8.10 to build Visual FiveWin. We expect to release a first beta this next week.
The great advantages of this IDE are:
1. It is open source and free. Everybody is welcome to use it, modify it and to enhance it. Full source code available!
2. Its going to be available for most FiveWin versions (including previous versions to 8.10). We will provide the required patches to get it working with your FWH version!
3. It supports RC files, and it can be used with both Harbour and xHarbour!
4. You are not forced to use it. You can keep using FiveWin the way you are used to, and alternatively you can use this IDE also!
Here you have a first screenshot: Final version uses xbrowse instead and looks much much nicer!

Glad you and Patrick got together .. as we spoke privately .. can you or will there be :
1) a way to 'dis-connect' the forms designer from the source code and just create the .rc ?
2) will there be a project compile .. not just running buildx.bat ?? from a run command ? .. a real 'make' and compile script ?
I realize you will be providing the source code and those changes could be done privately .. But I think a lot of 'old timers' would like to use the componants seperately, forms editor, text editor, make and compile utility .. bundled together in one IDE but not necessarily integrated together..

Hello Antonio,
good news.
Will the source code of the projects be object orientated style or in dbase syntax.
Regards,
Otto

Hi Antonio
Does it have an inbuilt editor or can you use a third party editor.

Colin,
The source code editor is built-in, but you can also choose to use an external one:

Mr.Antonio,
Visual FiveWin looks really good and useful.
Will there be syntax support in the Source code editor like MS Visual studio, which displays the available properties and methods of objects ?
Regards
Anser
