It's more than one year with no touching VFW, here is a link to see the advance, VFW is still a 16 bits app but it'll be easy to convert it to 32 bits.

http://www.box.net/shared/x6ysuaxc8c

As you'll see, the project has advanced but the fact is that I have decided to open the source code for make it finished in a reasonable short time.

I'd like to hear the Antonio's opinion (for a possible FiveTech coordination of the project) as well as the forums partners opinion too.

Regards.

Manuel,

i have no more wishes to work in an IDE because i don't like 'programming with mouse-clicks'.
My experience is that you'll never have a project without additional individual coding.

Just my opinion.

But you could start a poll in this forum to see the opinion of other FW users.

Manuel ,
you can post the source here
I can converte it into 32 bit
But there are many procedure not run ok
On init not found debug information and then I cannot save the project
we can see it as a good form designer ...
Best Regards, Saludos

Dear Manuel,

your decision is great. I know how hard it is to decide to open something for the public that for many different reasons one would rather like to remain secret. After years of hard work and development you have a strange feeling when you let so many strangers profit from your efforts.

But – anyway – I am sure that your decision is right. I’m not skilled enough to be of much help in programming, but I volunteer as a tester.

I’d like to see you succeed and would be happy if lots of other FiveWinners joined in.

Sincerely,

Otto Atzwanger

Hello Manuel,

thank you for the link.
Now it is working.
I will create a small sample program.

I saw that the project files are stored as vfw files which seems is a vfw own format.
Can you use the designer and an editor at the same time?

Thanks again.

Otto

Be my guest :)

I allready use vfw intensively to design my forms. I simulate the controls that aren't supported yet with other similar and later, just retouch the generated prg. It saves a lot of design time and typing to me.

So it is, try by double clicking a vfw file at c:\Program Files\Visual Fivewin\Projects\
Otto wrote:Can you use the designer and an editor at the same time?
Yes, but changes in the editor are not reflected in the module design, in fact prgs are not stored as a project's part, just module's form designs are stored by now.

Manuel,
Thank you for your answer.
I can’t find out how to save a modul as prg file. Could you please help me.

Regards,
Otto

PS: do you want that we report the errors we detect?

Click Preview Code and then File, Save As, etc
