Re: xHarbour vs Harbour
Enrico: Harbour links all the codepages modules, unlike xHarbour (like Clipper did) in which you would need to do a REQUEST to link the desired ones. Like the above, I'm pretty sure Harbour links more modules and likely even ones that are not available in xHarbour, which would explain the difference...

Reinaldo, ADutheil
Thanks for the info on hb_sendmail().
I'll have to review it and figure it out.
And yes, if only TSmtp supported SSL.

TSmtp, gmail, authentication
Hello all, long time since I've been around. Back in the day I made several enhancements to TSmtp class and others chimed in to implement authentication. Until now I've never had a need for authentication, but now I do and it isn't working quite right with gmail. Here's the info I was provided: smtp...

Re: Using other Western chars with an English app?
James:
Oh, I've been around... just little time to visit the forums frequently!
I sort of suspected it was the lack of Unicode support in FWH, but I guess
I was also hoping there was a way to make it work,
Hopefully Antonio will announce Unicode support in FWH soon enough.

Using other Western chars with an English app?
Hi all. Our app UI use English, but we have a few users that require either Greek or Baltic characters to display correctly on screen. So far all my experiments haven't quite worked. The idea is to be able to display standard English chars along with any of the character set available depending on t...

Re: Drag & Drop with TTreeView/TTVItem classes
Hi Jonathan... glad to hear from you too. I found the answer myself (as usual, just post a question and chances you'll answer yourself increase exponentially!)... roughly: ::oTree:bDropFiles := {| nRow, nCol, aFiles| ::AcceptFiles( aFiles, nRow, nCol ) } ... METHOD AcceptFiles( aFiles, nRow, nCol ) ...

Drag & Drop with TTreeView/TTVItem classes
Hi:
Has anyone done drag & drop with trees in which you can detect which
branch on the tree the mouse is released.
Using the std FWH drag&drop techiques I can drag an drop on the tree but I
can't figure out how to determine on which oItem the drop happens.
Thanks!

Marc:
Is there a way to obtain the MAC address of the server where the app is installed?
It would be easier just to get the MAC address of the server than collecting them
from each workstation.

Copy Protection
I've seen that there are some users here the use Protection Plus to copy protect their FWH apps. Others use AntiDuplicate and even Antonio's pendrive sample. I used Protection Plus years ago with Clipper/16 bit only and it worked great and looking at Roger Seiler's entry I see it's still a robust pr...

Eastern European characters
We have a user from Lithuania that complains he can't get Baltic characters to display properly on our FWH app. Since my Windows version is the Western one I have no way of doing more testing than the following. Take this 4 chars: ÅČĖŽ If I use MS Word's Insert Symbol dialog I see that Å can be ente...

Re: Determining if processor/OS is 64bits
Thanks for all the replies.
My first thought was PROCESSOR_ARCHITECTURE but I fear that only tells about the hardware, not the software.
I'll try the other approaches and see how they work and post my results later.

Determining if processor/OS is 64bits
Hi all: I'm wondering what's the best way to determine if the OS running is 64bit or not. The need is basically to determine if will install the 64 or 32 bit version of ADS 9x in our installer. I wonder if a simple GetEnv( "PROCESSOR_ARCHITECTURE" ) should be enough or is there a WinAPI ca...
